Mission

Postdocs at a picnicThe mission of Postdocs@Tech is to improve the quality of life and working environment for postdocs and affiliates at the postdoctoral level (such as non-tenure track scholars and research scientists) across Georgia Tech. Our goal is to create a forum for sharing knowledge, experiences, and advice. We aim to promote a sense of continuity, community, and identity among postdocs by doing the following:

  • Enhancing the postdoc experience through contributing to the Institute's academic, educational, and research communities.
  • Providing increased opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • Creating a collective and unified voice that connects and advocates for the postdoc community within the Institute.

Postdoc Activities Mailing List

Postdocs@Tech maintains a mailing list for organizing and discussing social events and activities for GaTech postdocs by GaTech postdocs. Subscribers can send out their ideas or suggestions for activities or events to do with and meet other subscribing postdocs. To subscribe, send an email to sympa@lists.gatech.edu with subject: subscribe postdoc_activities.

Postdocs@Tech MeetUps

These are social meet and greets for postdocs, research scientists, and other non-tenure track hires. Grab a friend or head out on your own as we reach across disciplines to expand our social and professional circles. This event is free to attend, but please note that individuals are responsible for paying their own bills. Just come to the location listed, and ask the host where to find the postdoc group (or start it yourself!). Contact James Cawthorne with any questions.

See the Upcoming Events page for current dates and times.

Postdoctoral Research Symposium

Postdocs@Tech and the Office of Postdoctoral Services collaboratively organize the annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium.
