About National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week

National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week (NPAW) will be celebrated nation-wide and at Georgia Tech from September 18-22, 2023. This year's theme celebrates the diversity of research, backgrounds, and experiences of postdocs.

The Office of Postdoctoral Services will host events centered around our vibrant postdoc community. We hope to create opportunities for you to cultivate meaningful relationships across campus. The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) will also host virtual webinars and networking events throughout the week, which can be viewed on the NPA website.

Paper Museum Tour & Origami

Diversity Symposium

We encourage postdocs to attend this campus-wide event, organized by Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This symposium, spanning multiple enlightening sessions, will bring together leaders, scholars, and activists who will delve into the depths of indigenous knowledge systems and engage in thought-provoking discussions on issues that impact the communities.

Careers in Science Policy

Location: Virtual
Date: Friday, September 22, 2023
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET

This virtual event features representatives from Scripps Research, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB). The panelists will discuss their transition into science policy, their career trajectories, and policy fellowship opportunities through their organizations. We will conclude with a Q&A session. This event is co-hosted by the Office of Postdoctoral Services at Georgia Tech and the Graduate School at University of Tennessee Knoxville.
