The Georgia Tech Library’s Patent and Trademark Resource Center, in partnership with United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), offers for the first time a six-week intellectual property summer series online. This series includes ten workshops led by USPTO experts through June and July, and all workshops are free and open to the public.
Learn about intellectual property basics at this interactive virtual session. In this module, we will provide a brief overview of the different types of IP (patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights). We will review the patenting process from invention to application to issue. Finally, we will cover the requirements for patentability, how to determine whether a provisional or non-provisional application is right for you, and how to weigh the costs and benefits of hiring a patent attorney.
